Leo is one of the most charismatic and exciting signs of the zodiac, but while many are attracted, Aries, Sagittarius, Gemini and Libra work best. Signs to avoid are usually Taurus and Scorpio.

Leo and Aries:

 This can be a match made in Heaven, or a relationship from hell, depending on which qualities are presented more dominantly. Aries likes to buck the trends, doing their own thing, while Leo is more keen on being socially acceptable and adored. The duo finds strength in their areas of common ground, while learning to agree to disagree at times.

Leo and Sagittarius:

A warm, well balanced meeting of mind and emotion, this pairing can often be a passionate and romantic one. Leo enjoys the depth of which Sagittarius feels things, Sagittarius is drawn from his or her shell by the warm, vivacious Leo. Occasionally hurt feelings can arise as Sagittarius does not always temper candor with tact, wounding the Leo ego.

Leo and Gemini:

Both of these signs love to have a good time, and both enjoy the drama and passion of new relationships. In a good balance, this is an excellent pairing- but with an ill balance, this can be a frustrating relationship as Leo prefers things to be more or less the same and Gemini enjoys novelty. Leo’s ego may not be prepared for this in a Gemini partner.

Leo and Libra:

Leos and Libras generally work very well together because both are true romantics at heart and enjoy being together. Both are fond of being wooed and courted, both enjoy returning the favor. This is generally a very intense, romantic and expressive pairing that can be quite long term, assuming one partner does not get bored. 

Why They Don’t Work:

Leo and Taurus:

Taurus has very little tolerance for Leo’s insatiable desire for broad range affection and may not understand that flirting does not equal infidelity. Leo will often want to be out on the town, exploring and social, while Taurus would prefer a quiet night at home. As well both signs are incredibly stubborn and at times self centered. This can work- but it will take a great deal of communication without name calling and commitment to not taking one another for granted.

Leo and Scorpio:

These signs are both known for being very proud and very intense- which, can lead to a very passionate short term, but a relationship that burns brightly then ends just as explosively. Jealousy can and usually will play a big factor in why this pairing does not work out so well.

Honorable Mention:

Leo and Capricorn:

This is one of those relationships which can work, but may take work. Capricorn isn’t as gregarious as Leo, and as such can sometimes be annoyed with Leo’s need for attention and socialization. But, the pair really work well together as a team in a balance of opposites. Capricorn is very goal oriented and hard working, which helps bolster and bring about Leo’s dreams and flights of fancy.
